Everyone has a different sense and experience of their ancestors. Though I have many heavenly guardians and supporters, love the years, I’ve found that my relationship with a handful of them is the most salient.

In “Ancestor Protection,” I depict ancestors looking down on me as I have in other ancestor pieces but highlight the presence of one in particular in the center piece.

This piece represents that though each of us has a host of ancestors looking down on us, there is often one that holds a special place in out hearts and a predominant role in leading and guiding us.
